How on earth could a 5year old know about this stuff?
Anyway, we thought she was pretty cute at first. She was the clicker for his Powerpoint. But the she got bored and started drawing on the whiteboard.
She started drawing this person, then she drew a noose around it's neck and wrote above it, " I will hang you all" and "I want your blood".
Her father was quite shocked. He was quick to defend her and was very worried.
We left the lecture quite scared.
How on earth could a 5year old know about this stuff?

You never know what will stick in a kid that age's mind. At 4 or 5 I saw an old Hammer Studios Frankenstein movie on TV, and recreated many of the gorier scenes with my cousins doll collection. 30+ years later I think she still holds a grudge.
I'd bet a McDonalds lunch that she saw a movie trailer for a movie like HOSTEL somewhere and it stuck in her head. 4 hours worht of MY LITTLE PONY DVDs should fix her right up.

please, kids know A LOT more about life then any adult. they are way smarter then we give them credit for. they havnt been tanted yet.
and for all you know they kid got it from a movie or poster they saw. they often copy things they see at those ages. they absorb everything around them, its a stage of youth that we all had.
now, i love T.V and I Iove video games. However, I have to admit like me and most people, we can watch violent TV or play violent video game and not have a single feeling to repeat any of the violent acts, but their is always that small percentage who is urged into having to do exactly what they saw. However, if she is 5 then I am not so sure it could be TV or Video Games, because they don't have may violent "rated E" games unless she played somthing rated "M", and most TV shows for the youth aren't violent unless she started channel surfing.
It could also be from violence around the house.
Some older child showed her that.
Oh how I miss the youth.. such a wonderful, carefree stage of life..yes these kids absorb everything they see and hear and are quite smart.
Maybe she has older siblings...TV may be to blame with the gory cartoons they have these days....? Sad.

It is all about exposure. My neice just turned 6 and she is brilliant. She will come out and say something that just blows your mind because she heard it somewhere.
People have to remember, a child's brain is like a sponge. They hear things from your conversation in the other room. They watch things on TV, even if i is just flipping through the channels

If this is true, I am wondering, does she have access to a computer with no supervision.if she can draw and write that, she can figure out how to operate a computer. Next question, whom does she hang out with...older kids that she is observing and listening to...video games are another question...those games can be pretty scary...I would be worried about her.
Well she could have learned it from her brothers and sisters. I know almost everything bad I learned when I was little was from my sister and brother! lol.
She also could have watched a movie about something morbid while her parents were away.
Or if could be learned from her friends at school. It could be the thing everyone in her school's talking about!
To her it shouldn't mean much...when I was in kindergarden I didn't even know what hang (noose around neck) meant. So don't worry too much over it.
