You are assuming that everyone with Asperger's is the same.
a cousin of mine has asperger, and I am not sure if its the same with everyone, but in his case the re is a difficulty with social cues and social behaviour. he has found translating good work. You can get correspondence degrees to become a translator. He also has written books and plays.
That is hard to answer because no two people have the same type of problems associated with it. it would be better to talk to people that know them personally.
My son has AS and although he is only 15 I hope that this may help. A lot of people with AS find change and uncertainly very difficult. A suitable job would be one that is quite routine without being totally boring to do. Quite a challenge!! My son did work experience in an office. He enjoyed filing, photocopying, data input and taking phone messages. All the best.

people with this have skills and they need to develop those skills so that they can pursue a career which uses their special skills.ie. they may be good at cooking so could become a cook.

Most aspies have some sort of savant skill. It could be computers, music, or something else. Your ideal job would be something that would exploit that, but yet allow you to work in relative solitude.
It depends on their interests, really. I know quite a few Aspie engineers and computer programmers, but that's just where their interests lie. If he or she has an "obsession", for lack of a better term, the odds are great that they can be very succesful if they are able to apply it somehow in the world of work. My husband, for example, went from being lego master to an architect, and he's quickly getting a great reputation as a talented designer. He's passionate about it, so that helps lot.
