Why is visual stimulation so addictive?

Depends on what you are looking at, or more specifically, the meaning you give to the visual stimulus. If it is rewarding and pleasureful then your brain will give you a little hit of dopamine -the reward neurotransmitter. Dopamine gives you a sense of reward and motivation. It is nature's way of getting you to repeat a desirable behavior. It creates pleasure and yes, sometimes addictive behavior. Maybe your not so much addicted to the stimulus as you are to the little hit of dopamine. If it feels good then you are likely to repeat it.
i don't know why and I don't feel i need to, I just know that I like looking at nice looking women, video games and special effects in movies.
i find that over analysing things can be counter productive.

it is only stimulating if that is how you learn, others learn by listening and others by doing things, each process is stimulating because the brain is processing the data

I think part of it is because we as humans evolved as "visual " beings - our perception and understanding of the world around us is mostly visual based. Dogs use their sense of smell, whales and bat use sounds, some animals pick up heat or electrical signals or vibrations. Every species has a preferred or more relied upon way to interpret their world (even though all of the senses are used)
Its the next best thing to tasting

I think fragrance stimulation is just as powerful.
Visual is that way because so much information can be taken in by sight. Your brain is hungry for stimulation and visually is the largest port of entry.
i think it is because it is an attractive thing, and being able to see and express it, is just the benefits of it.
