Have you reached the point in life to realize that "things" are just "stuff"??

I'm having the biggest kick giving away or selling off almost EVERYTHING...I want to live a very very minimalist existence. All that matters to me are my family and memorabilia/photos/videos (and some recreational gear). My house is neat and clean and tidy, and my brain is less cluttered, too.
I've given away in the last 3 years, over 100 hefty bags full of clothes, miscellaneous, furniture, bric-a-brac, books, electronics, linens, dishes, you name it...
Just ask yourself if you had to buy your own stuff, what would you spend money on NOW, then give the rest away. Or honestly state what you'd pick out of your closet in a hurry, or what's truly comfortable to wear that looks good, and the rest goes, or what you haven't touched in the last 2 years.
It's liberating! Anyone else feel like this?

Answer:
Yes and yes again. I am tediously weeding out "things" and "stuff" that are simply there and never used. One's life can become overburdened with "nothings" that contribute little to happiness. I don't consider family heirlooms in the "things" category; however, these I pass on to other family members to add to their "stuff". Yes, it is liberating and much easier to rest in a home that no longer needs "things" to make me happy.
I'm not ready to give anything away, but I have stopped the senseless buying. I am much happier now.
Yeah, I'm almost at that point. It is nice to have nice things though.
Although happiness is more important than material items.
No.
The things are cherish are not for their monetary value but for the memories that are attached to them. The gifts from my loved ones some of whom are not even alive, anymore. The items that I purchased in my travels, or to commemorate an event. It is not about the material side of it, but there is a spiritual value to the ones that I like.

Also, I have a passion for fashion, and those pieces of clothes and shoes are not merely clothing but they are works of art and I hold that in high regard.

That having said, of course I recycle some no-longer used properties and give them away to charity, like any normal person.

Hope this answers your question.
Yeah. Whenever I get back from a really long vacation away from my family and such, I get rid of a ton of stuff because I got used to living with nothing but my ipod and a sudoku book to keep me entertained. I am again right now in the process of cleaning the throw-away kind of junk out of my room... after that I'm moving onto my clothes and other goodwill-worthy things. I stopped buying junk a long time ago so if I keep this up I should be pretty un-cluttered soon. I spend my money on music nowadays, and sometimes things that I'll be able to actually use, nothing of the decoration type like a dinky little statue of a cat or something.
sure,,,you do realize that after you move to another place...
I never felt more empty before than when I got a divorce and had to move out to another place...
I said oh my gosh... all these stuff are mine?and they don't do a thing for me.!
I ignored the only memorable thing - person in my whole life- my ex.
