2. start socializing. talking to people will help. u can start with ur family, then realtives, friends, neighbors.
3. read on things u want to excell at. the internet was always a good help to me. everything is just a google-away.

Often, I feel the same way. I use my child as a motivation tool. I know by improving myself, I am also improving the quality of her life. Keep at it and you will find your niche in life.
You need to stop thinking like ppl are better than you, because they are not. I believe you need to see a therapist because your not worthless...you served in the milatary do you know how many people look up to people like you and want to be just like you. your far from worthless because you've accomplished so much in life. All you need is some one to talk to and help you because you really need to stop thinking that harsh about your self. Good luck!!

From the way you are speaking, it seems that your feelings of worthlessness stem from you comparing yourself to everybody else and focusing on what they have that you don't.
You see, in the normal interactions of everyday life, we humans and our analytical minds compare ourselves to other people constantly, making note of our differences and similarities. Some people focus on the negative qualities of other people, some people focus on the positive, and most people are about in the middle.
If you seem to find yourself remarking at all the great things other people have going for them, this is actually a good quality for you. You just need to learn to focus that same kind of praise on yourself.
There must be at least a few things that you are good at. Sit down with a piece of paper and spend at least 2 full minutes listing them. Even include things that you think everyone is good at. Put big things like special skills, your career, and any major accomplishments or recoveries as well as small things like having good handwriting, being able to whistle or being an avid recycler (this last one is significant to me).
By taking the time to think about and recognize your virtues in written form, hopefully you will be able to recognize that, while other people possess strengths that you might never have, you have your own set of talents that a lot of other people might not be able to match.
However, if the feeling persists, please seek help for possible depression, as your self-image may be directly linked to this. Depression can often cause a depreciation of one's self-image.
