Can boredom lower your IQ?

Answer:
Although I'm no professional in the field, I'd say, yes, over and extended time -- I don't mean every now and then -- it will atrophy our ability to spontaneously respond, clearly analyze and construct and deconstruct ideas, be creative, and care. By care I mean be motivated.

We cannot complacently sit back and accept boredom. Life asks too much of us. There is too much to learn and experience to accept being bored. We have to analyze our environment and take action to bring fresh ideas into our lives. We have to take action to interact with people to build our knowledge and understanding of life and to build bonds of love and trust. These things nourish us more than food.

We should declare war on boredom -- I don't mean a satisfying temporary kick-back -- to protect our IQ, but more importantly to protect who and what we are: intelligent spiritual beings.
Probably also, but for shure it not increase it:)
Unless you forget everything you learned...
no. its based on how you answer things and such
Yea as your unhappy or stressed your brain cells pop
noooo.

unless you cant pay attention because of it while you learn
No, it makes you think.
I think, if you made good use of that time you call boredom, you can raise your IQ. Puzzles are great exercise for your brain.
no, that would be impossible!

Just because you're not learning anything for a few seconds, doesn't mean your IQ decreases. It just means your not using your brain power.
Eventually it will if you let it. If you let your mind get dull with too much tv, isolation, doing nothing much, yes, your critical thinking will suffer.
If you use an otherwise boring time as an opportunity to do mental athletics, read, write, converse, walk, run, etc, your IQ will not suffer.
If it does, then I'm in a LOT of trouble...
Not permanently but yes, due to lowered concentration levels etc.
