How can I become more confident?
thanx.
Answer:
You can start small, first, in your head think thoroughly of the things you want to articulate and later present these opinions to someone who is sure to encourage you, such as a close friend or a family member. You need to be around people who are likely to confirm your ideas (within socially acceptable limits of course, we are not talking anything hurtful or delusional hopefully). The goal is building your self-esteem from zero to much higher degree. It may take a while and do not give up on yourself until you feel that you are ready to take on a challenge. You can think of a challenge as taking a risk and wallowing away from your comfort zone to make sure you have established a solid mechanism within your mind that is hard to penetrate even if others seem to disagree with you. In life we must take risks even sometimes when a voice in our head tells us to back off we need to believe in ourselves first and foremost before trying to get an idea across. In most job interviews, the main reason for the employer to see someone as not qualified is because the candidate does not portray qualities of one who is confident enough to do the job. And this is true even if the candidate is overequipped with the knowledge to do it; it is the attitude that counts. It is the way we present ourselves to people which will let them know what we are capable of and by having the confidence you are enabling yourself to stand up and go fetch whatever it is you want to get out of life . So, Yeah you must practice improving your confidence levels as that will be the key to not just to accept yourself but that will also allow you to be accepted by the society!
Just remember that if you do something stupid most people wont remember it 5 minutes later.
Life is too short to worry about what people think. Chances are they aren't a bit better. Speaking up? You have a right to your opinion. Tell it if you want to. If you worry about every word that comes out of your mouth; you'll get paranoid. If somebody laughs at what you say; just laugh, like you thought it was funny. If you don't think you are worthy of anything; how will anybody else? Life is too short to be critical. Just your confidence up. Start today.
I should be a salesman for Dale Carnegie because I would highly recommend it to anyone. I wish that I had taken the program when I was a kid because it would have improved my entire life and career by giving me speaking confidence in front of people. The program that I took was called "Public speaking and human relations skills" and I'm sure they have a similar program but it may be called something else. Good luck! Look up "Dale Carnegie"
