What is the psychology of problem solving? How does cognition work? What technical detailed process does the brain go through when attacking the problem-solving process properly?

Are you familiar with the Zig Zag problem solving model used with Myers Briggs? It covers the stages of problem solving in a detailed way.
the worse thing people do is over analyze and or second guess common sense... what does it matter how the brain functions when solving the problem... either you get a solution or you don't... knowing how it's done in the brain has never helped people do it better.
Here's the common sense approach... I have a problem... I look at the cause of the problem... I see if I could eliminate the cause of the problem..
Sometimes things are beyond my control so I try another approach... I either don't see the problem or the problem is beyond my control... then I look to minimize the damage to myself... I look for resources, support and protect myself.. that is the common sense approach.
