How do I stop being a whinger?
I don't want to go back to being silent or sitting on the fence on every issue nor have someone taking the pee out of me so I stand up for myself, fight my corner and air everything as and when it happens rather than bottle it up and then explode weeks down the line but at that same time I can't continue whinging daily!
I need practical advice on how to deal with this lazy colleague and the stress she gives me and the rest of the team, please?
Thanks.

I have similar problems, are you a Virgo by any chance? I find if someone isn't pulling their weight then they should be informed about it. If your manager doesn't listen to your grievances, then take it higher up/ you don't get paid to go home stressed out at night. My collegues are related to the boss which makees it harder for me, but your day shouldn't be ruined by someone who can/t be bothered, we all like a laugh at work, it's what gets us thru our day, but the work still has to be done.
You whinge because you get something out of it. Nobody does anything unless they have some sort of payback for it. Find out what that thing is & you can eliminate the whinging.
Could it be that you get more attention by whinging?
Dont complain & let someone else sort out the problem
get a boyfriend, go to the clubs or bars, stop being boring and live life free, that's how you stop whinning
Whinging challenges peoples attitudes and concepts.
They have to justify their position or attitude to have a go back at you.
Don't you worry about it, it's healthy and generates active thought.
Whingers of the world unite!
Don't whinge - complain.
How on earth do you think your superior(s) get to know about slackers unless it is pointed out to them.
Just do it - YOU will feel better and everyone will stop having to cover for the lazy sod!
If the lazy colleague is causing the team to feel stressed & not just you, then you should talk to the Line Manager as a team & say the laziness is not acceptable to you all. However if you are being regarded as a whinger it sounds either as though you are overreacting, or your Line Manager is ineffective in not dealing with the lazy member of staff. In this case you will have to either put up with the situation & pride yourself on your hard work, or confront the lazy person yourself in a way that won't make it difficult to work with them in future. If they are lazy, but not incompetent, could you offload some of your work onto them by implying that they could do it better than you? Could you find out why they are lazy? Are they pretending to work or are they unable to cope with the workload for some reason?
stop being so serious and worrying all the time i use to be like that and it didnt get me anywhere i even got the nickname victor meldrew by family and friends now im so laid back without a care in the world no matter how much it dumps on me,its hard at first but youl get there in the end.
how to deal with this lazy **** you could gang up with some of your collegues and threaten to leave if something aint done,it worked for me in a previous job with someone we called lazy hag
as long as you can show you are doing your job why worry if someone else is slacking?
just make sure you keep all emails/memos paperwork that shows you are doing and providing what you should and then your lazy colleague will be the one that has to answer for uncompleted ytasks.
As the song goes - always look on the bright side of life.
Lame i know but on the factual side of things i have three words for you ...
Think - Do - Feel.
If you change how you feel about something it automatically canges how you do an feel about it. Example if you are sitting in traffic and it is pissing you off think - well i cant change it so i will just accept it - this in turn makes you feel calmer and then affects what you di like not swear etc. Change what you can and accept what you cant.
Other than that express your concerns to your line manager in an off the record style and make it as professional as possible eg providing a less than achievable service or letting the company down and steer clear of the personal views eg it bothers me - no it doesnt it affects the company and the work targets.
good luck in any case if they are so lazy it means you are not and you can hold your head high cos you are doing what you are paid for and a good winge is perfectly healthy now and then.
All the best. x
Give up your B.S job and find one that satisfies you.
We find most of the time when we are happy we can shrug things off and dont whinge, (like when you're at home) Whinging at this team mate could be just an expression of your general dissatisfaction. You prefer to think your work life would be ok if not for this single factor when this is probably very far from the truth
I dunno, i might be wrong. Go work in a monkey house for a bit, funny as owt monkies.
Simple matey, Buy yourself a big roll of gaffer tape and affix it to her whingeing mouth! The best of Luck XXX
