Answer:
She must have the contagious form of OCD.
Some people have OCD bad and some people just have a slight degree of it which is why they dont even know they have it. Still, some people just do things similar as an OCD. It doesn't mean you have OCD but if you think you do, a good way to tell is ask yourself, does this significantly affect my life? if it does you may have OCD. See a doc he can give you meds or therapy, whichever you may need. the best thing you can do for your girlfriend is to be understanding and supportive.
You cannot get "ocd" from someone but you can sure pick up on what they do and get ocd tendencies. i was married to a man with ocd and i think just because of living with him, seeing what he did and helping him with it, I learned some of his behaviors. For example I am now VERY organized, sometimes to much so and it drives others crazy. I also like to know what i am doing and when and I like to plan. I like to make lists and follow off them. For example at the beginning of a month I buy all greeting cards needed for that month and send them right away so none is late. I don't go as far as he did with things, but like I said i do see me still doing things that I used to do to help him out,. He had it so bad, our fridge was in perfect order, our movies and cds in alphabetical order and labeled, our mail and magazines stacked in neat piles, I am not to that extreme at all. Things in our closet were perfect. Things on our dresser were neatly arranged. It would take him 1 day to clean 1 room as he cleaned it top to bottom, walls, couch cushions etc. I did alot of research on the subject so that I could help him. The best thing to know is that it is real and is a disorder that they cannot help. Don't make fun of her and just do what you can to accommodate and help. He was on meds for this and they did help. Before his meds were regulated he would get so upset and depressed if his things ( like in fridge) were messed up and he would feel out of control. Understand and patience and not making fun of him was what helped him most and me being understanding that he hated being that way
ocd is genetic. everyone has this disorder to an extent, I did too. But its a matter of controlling it. dont let it get out of hand. otherwise its no big deal, you're a normal person.
