What is the relationship between motivation and behaviors?

Answer:
If you are motivated to do something, you will show that behavior. If you are not motivated, you will not exhibit the behavior. Motivation can be both extrinsic (getting paid to go to work even though you may rather have the day off) and intrinsic (doing thinks for you family even though you might want to sit an watch TV).
Behavior is normally, directly proportional to ones motivations in strength, focus and persistence. For example, if someone strongly desires a specific outcome, his behavior will be equally focused and strongly, forceful toward the achievement of that outcome. If someones motivation is weak, his behavior will be less focused and he will be more easily discouraged and/or redirected toward doing something else.
