I would like to think that sex has many functions. I personally think that sex does please you to a varying degree depending on who, where and why? I believe that sex and sexual prowess are very much related to confidence. Which is a vicious circle in that the more confident you are the more sex, which is great but the down side is when you are not getting any, you have no confidence. I once read a great quote, "Sex is like oxygen, it only matters when you are not getting any".
A more educated person may be able to delve deeper into how the need for sex is born of our primal instinct and the need of a species to survive and reproduce and that over time we have become indulgent in the pleasures the neccessity afforded us. However I am unqualified to do so without making myself look like a fool.
