Have you had an unexplainable feeling conjured up by a particular painting, song, book, etc?
Answer:
Yes, it happens to me every now and then. Sometimes when reading a book a feel the weirdest feeling of deja vu even though I know I've never read the book before.
Sometimes when I'm listening to song, a really beautiful song (usally ones without words) it makes me feel sad and like I'm not living life to my fullest. It's hard to put into words.
I've listened to songs before that made me sick to my stomach and I have no idea why because they were just regular pop songs. It wasn't really a feeling of excitement. It was more nauseating, but it was still considerably weird.
The part about it adding something to the great mystery of your life is basically it. You read something you like, so you go all out to like it even more, and then everywhere you go there is a lot more of what it is you liked. So you have to decide whether you are overusing it's nostalgia.
Everything is good in moderation and you have to learn how to use the things that provide you with nostalgia. Maybe you can hang favourite seventies posters on your wall, or hang your favourite 20s dresses in your closet. You can do all this but you still have to find out how to use it. Mother Teresa is a big advocate on saving the earth. She had no articles in excess and only had one change of clothes, a towel, a cup, a plate and spoon, and chose to have that much. That's the fun of it though.
We are all the same with nostalgia.
