What is add and how does it affect one's life >?
Answer:
ADD and ADHD is Attention Deficit Disorder (Hyperactivity)
one thing when you do have it your personal life is NEVER dull and boring. Quite the opposite sometimes.
If you have it you may have kids with it too. No great drama as the most creative people around have it.
I have it and my children have it. Only one adult child still takes the medication because it really helps her to stay focused in her work.
I manage without medication so sometimes my life can get a bit hectic and chaotic. If it is bothering you get medical help and also counselling can be a great help and support groups.
Lack of Concentration and disorganization and trying to do too much at once are problems with me.
I put the kettle on for a cuppa and then after I've done something in the backyard, fed the pets and lots of other things I go into the kitchen and find my cold cup of tea. I find too many distractions are my undoing. I live with it. I'm very lucky as my husband understands and often helps me keep on track.
some people argue its a man-made thing and that there are no tests to actualy prove it exists...just a gimmick to get kids.adults to take more prescription drugs. I don't have a strong opinion on it..but I personally know people who 'have' it...they just seem distracted and have no attention span (nothing more than better parenting can handle I think)
Don't let yourself be labeled as an "ADD" victim. The mind can be trained, so if your problem is paying attention, or concentrating, you can, through practice, improve your focus and concentration.
ADD is a clinical rationalization for a non clinical problem. I know this issue is being debated, but that's my opinion after years of teaching high school students who supposedly had ADD. I think it's a bogus condition and you needn't see yourself as someone with a "mental disability."
