This question is open to both males and females. What do we like?
Recently in my philosophical-psychology class, we have been discussing the interactions of men and women in social settings. We have been discussing attractions and detractions for both males and females; and the unavoidable issue of social economic status arose. Furthermore, the question I propose is, do we prefer an individual who has the ability (confidence) to do but has an average financial stability; or would we rather prefer an individual that is financially stable but is apprehensive about their abilities? And why?

THis question is too long and uninteresting for me to completely answer right now. Partly because I have to urinated and some ahole name craig is in the john, and partly because you are over anal-izing this scenario.
Confidence wins, but intellegence mixed with wit is what gets me creamin in my cut off jean shorts.

I think that initially the interaction is going to be on the surface, but that your true attraction is going to change. I also believe that this will occur within that first real conversation. So we end up putting these financial and ability type characteristics aside.
Overall, men are visual - that will attract them first, and the female will look at the material status (which brings out confidence in the man anyway).
So what do we like? In the end, the attraction that will win will be that of the individuals' immediate goals and situations - job/career, family, children, needs and such....Of course, socially, we all know how fast one can lose a job (financial security) and how one evil look and taunt from a "friend" across the room can damage one's confidence/abilities....smi...
