What is it that makes people obsessed with someone?

A lot of times it is fear of rejection. By obsessing for that people they can imagine themselves either being with that person or being that person. Many of these individuals are very ill and need treatment. Those who do not receive treatment often stalk their loves ones, celebrities, and can even get to the point of murder. The obsession is deeply rooted and most of these individuals have poor self-image and self-esteem.
Remember rape is about power and asserting fear into someone. To make another person lose control. Should the victim decide to not press charges it may indicate to the rapist/stalker power to control them even more.
I would suggest that this individual seek protection from law enforcement. Tell them about the rape- this can give the victim some relief of letting someone know. Also call a rape crisis hotline in their state. Finally, should the victim know the rapist/stalker the should get a protection order or restraining order to protect them.
