Help on an interview?
what does that mean. do I tell him waht I do or my qualitties??
note: I have never been to an interview before.
Answer:
I would suggest telling them about personal characteristics and maybe hobbies and activities that have some direct relationship to the job. And, perhaps, that suggest you are a well-rounded person. It sort of depends on the job. So, for example if you were applying for a job in a bookstore, you might talk about how you're an avid reader, how you really like interacting with people, how you're well organized, how you have lots of interests, so you tend to keep up on books in a lot of areas, how you've worked in retail before, but have always wanted to work in a book store, etc. I wouldn't be telling them that I was divorced or a mother of six or that I like to take long walks on the beach and drink pina coladas. That might be interesting, but it's irrelevant to the job.
Good luck.
first ask if they mean business or personal ,then go from there
practice in front of a mirror
ask yourself the question and answer to yourself
practice saying each word so you don't stutter or stay quiet
adjective like: I am a responsible person, punctual, get great satisfaction in doing things correctly if I don't know or understand I will ask
I am a team player as well as work well alone on projects, meet deadlines and will ask if unsure of priorities on work load.
I hope this helps but always practice pronouncing the words in front of a mirror .. articulation is key specially if you are going to be answering a phone or relaying messages.
You should give a background of yourself such as your schooling. Then you should point out good qualities of yourself such as you are a hardworker, you learn quickly, you are self-motivated, etc. etc.
What you're really doing is selling yourself. Its like you are standing in a store window ready to be bought and you have to stand out from the rest. Keep that in mind when you go in there. Good luck!
Most interviewers don't care what you tell them about yourself. It is a good question to start off with to get you talking so it doesn't feel like they are interogating you. So, tell them what ever you want and don't worry about telling them what you think they want to hear. I usually tell them just a quick bit about my family and hobbies.
First of all, not to pick on you, but PLEASE make sure you use spell check on your resume. That is one of the biggest pet peeves many supervisors have....misspelled words on applications/resumes and poor penmanship. If your writing isn't neat, type it!
Make sure you give specific examples of your strengths and how they relate to the job your applying for. Keep the answer job or skill related

I don't have too much to add to everyone else's answers. You should emphasize any experience you've had that is in any way related to the job for which you are applying. For example, if you were applying to work at a restaurant and had never worked as a server before, you might want to mention that you have had many dinner parties or helped out at many dinner parties in the family, circle of friends, etc. Be sure to tell them something that is at least partly true, though. Don't tell them you're a great cook if you don't even know how to boil noodles and mix them with jarred sauce. They might ask you what your best recipes are. Or, if you tell them you love to read, be prepared to tell them your favourite author/genre and the most recent book you've read (and what it's about).
One thing you might want to mention is that you're a team player. And think of some examples of this. So many jobs require teamwork.
Good luck.
