Why do some people have good handwriting and others really bad?

I have terrible handwriting. I can't write cursive either. I had to get a tutor in fourth grade to teach me. It didn't really work. I just couldn't get it. I feel really bad filling out any kind of forms. I write my name like I write all my word in print and really super bad. I'm also very clumsy. Maybe that has somthing to do with it. People say my handwriting and my room have the one thing in common. there a disaster!

Answer:
Well this has always been a question of mines too! My Mom has beautiful flowng lines writing, alot of my ex boyfriends did too, which sucks cus I alwyas thought guys werent suposed to write pretty. lol
And a close female friend has awesome handwriting I always get her to sign card, notes whatever for me, I 'm left handed,artistic-
but I dont really think that has anything to do with writing, I've asked my Mom over and over again & she claims the prettiest writing comes from being patient, Which is probably true because I dont practice & I'm not patient at all, FYI my wng has gotten better as Ive gotten older & practiced alittle here & there.
Good luck
Maybe try hypnosis...They claim they can unlock all kinds of potential in people
question of the ages.
omg.. i also have poor handwriting, cant write cursive, am clumsy and have a messy room! weird

perhaps its genetic? lol
Honestly I don't know why. Generaly people who are left handed write worse but they also seem to be more creative. It also depends on steadiness of the hand and stuff like that. I know that's not scientific but that's all I can think of.
well i think that the more you grow up, the more your handwriting improves...my handwriting sucked in middle skewl but once i got to high skewl it extremely improved also watch how yew hold your pen and how you control it.that really affects your handwriting...watch others with nice handwriting and try to watch how they hold the pen and how they control it ...pick out your worst letters and work your hardest on them..i dont know how old yew are but im sure over time it will get better! GOOD LUCK <3
perhaps you lack practice in writting when you are still young.
your hand writting strokes were not properly corrected that time.

sometime handwritting signifies the what kind of personality one person has.
It certainly doesn't get better with age in my case. My handwriting has gotten so bad the electronic signature thing at the DMV will not accept my handwriting so I have to print it out.
For most people it's a matter of not really taking the time to learn how to form the letters or a large amount of the others it's because they have small fine motor skill problems that no one addressed. That is why my daughter can't write in cursive she had find motor skill issues and finds it difficult to write for any lenght of time. That's why one of her modifications on her IEP is that she dictates her tests and someone does the writing for her and when she's in school she has a computer so that she doesn't have to write because typing isn't an issue for her. She can type very well and when it comes to writing her name we just practice a lot so that when she has to write her name on legal documents she can write it so that it can be read and for the rest she'll use a computer.
Some people dropped out of school! I guess!
This is just a theory, but I have a feeling that it has to do with a person's motor coordination. If a person has difficulty with eye-hand coordination, then it would naturally be difficult to write well.
Because some peopel have a large sense of moving around room in the world and others follow where all the sidewalks tell them to go. Your penwomanship is not intended to be like your forebears and instead you write like yourself in a big moving about kind of way. The neat styles of writing are learned or cpoied. There is nothing original about those people.
They have a certain way to write r's b's' k's whatever. Those that still know how offhand probably learned from someone that went to a one room school house and got hit around for bad penwomanship. So they gained the ability to copy the teachers letters perfectly curve for curve.
The earlier stuff came from monestary temples where priests and nuns would create alphabet scriptures, kind of like how you can change fonts on word.

Good question and good luck.
