How can I stop been depressed?

do something that you enjoy. I recommend you to go to the gym or listening to music! Hope that helps!

stop thinking about yourself and how depressed you are instead think about others and how you can make them happy and when you start making others happy youll get happy too
Do something that involves concentration and/or physical activity. learn to play a new board game, do a really large puzzle, bike ride, play some sports, just do SOMETHING.
Play more sports, do the things you enjoy, take care of your hobbies, be around people you love and see your friends more often.
If it gets more serious, you'll have to see a shrink, or a youth center, or a therapy group.
Immediately get up and take a walk... plan to come back for more answers later.

While you're walking, remember small successes from last week, last month, last year. You can do more starting now since you've reached out for help. Yes, reaching out through Yahoo! Questions is a success. MANY PEOPLE COULD NOT DO THAT!

hi, I am not a pyschologist so I hope I can be somewhat helpful to you.

and the following things are repeative I mentioned to other's question so I hope you don't mind, I just copy and paste my answer. well, it doesn't change just because I retyped it.

here is what I suggest:

1) first, go and arrange to see a psychologist, and take medication for this. don't be ashemed, it is very very common that ppl take medicine for the depression or anxiety. I took it myself and I feel a lot better after it. well, it is sure it better than cut yourself. I don't cut my self but I tend to stay in the depression mood and stock there.

2) take a religion, I am a Buddhist, so not to be unfair but I am going to share with you about Buddhism.

and start with chanting Buddha's name. the benefits is that

it will : 1) reduce your bad karma, bad deed in the past. we believe that mental problems are most related to our bad karma and bad deed in the past

2) it will connect with you to Buddha and Buddha can come and help you

well, the trick of this that , you have to practice your life like Buddha, what's that mean, it mean you need to be compassion--in other words, be a good and kind person.
don't cheat, don't lie, don't steal, don't hurt others, don't take drugs or alchol. do good deed that can help others or animals, or insects. have a good heart with compassion.

be a vegetarian for day (so no animal was eaten by you)

3. start doing good deed,

4. read about meditation, and Buddhism. it will help a lot.

I used to have mental problem too but as I start practice Buddhism and also become more kind and compassion to others by doing good deed and chanting Buddha's name. I am happy now.

personal experience, trust me. keep doing it. pray daily , start chanting the name of Buddha now and practice compassion and kind. you will get better.
