For those of you who have tried therapy!?
I was thinking about seeing a psychologist just bc I bottle things up a lot and thought it may help me to talk with someone. I was wondering what your thoughts where about this and if it actually does anything or helps what so ever. Thank you..
Answer:
If you do the exercises and listen to their advice than yes it helps. If you just show up, talk for an hour and leave, it changes nothing.
Yes, it absolutely does help. Bottling up is very bad for you and can cause you both emotional and physical illnesses.
learning about yourself is rarely a bad thing. the potential to grow and improve as a human being is worth the chance. therapy works for some and not for others. it has worked tremendously for me. misery is no longer my daily routine. you really have nothing to lose. give it a try. and may i recommend you really give it a try, and don't simply go through the motions. you're more likely to benefit if you embrace the experience. at least for me it did. go for it. it's 2007, there is no shame in therapy. we have grown as a society.
yes it helps.
the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the lives of its possesers.
if you go...be completly honest!
i promise from experience, that you cant say anything that will shock them,or that they havent heard before.if your not honest, your wasting your time.
god bless you always!!
