Can you bear any pain or suffering with enough self-love?

Or, should you dare to be yourself despite what it might entail?
Are you better-off converting to something or conforming.because some things are just too hard.?

Answer:
"Just be yourself..." Its an easy answer, but much harder to practice. Oftentimes, we don't really like ourselves - so why would we want to be that person? I think its best to spend some time trying to figure out who you want to be - what kind of person you want to be. From there, work on yourself. It is much easier to 'be yourself' if you like who that is.

There is also the argument that you must conform in some circumstances. This is not always a bad thing...it is a self preservation tactic. You can't be all things to all people - but you can certainly do what you need to in order to fit in or succeed in certain aspects of your life. As long as you know who you are - you can be whomever you need to be in order to make your life easier...
Don't convert or conform. If you can manage to be yourself, do it. That is why YOU personally exist. Best of luck, this is not easy.
Always be your self! If it's not good enough for some, that is their problem, never conform, it is complacency that has ruined society thus far! Life is hard if it wasn't everyone would be the same, it is how each of us handle situations that makes things work so well. I don't want to be like anyone/everyone else!
i think it is best to be yourself and stand your ground - almost all the time.
sometimes, it is better to "go along" you know, pick your battles, don't waste time or energy on pointless battles or causes. like trying to convince a born-again that god doesn't exist - that would be a waste.
Also, I think that life is more precious than death or martyrdom - so i would probably deny certain things in order to stave off death of myself or loved ones. I would rather LIVE with the irritation of denying something i believed in rather than DIE because of it.
IMO - life trumps everything
Someone who is self-absorbed will generally have a far --lower-- threshold of pain than people whose concern is genuinely other-centered.

But if you believe something is objectively right, then you should only compromise and conform if it somehow 'serves the greater good'. NOT because it's too uncomfortable for you to stand your ground.

In both cases, other-centeredness versus self-centeredness is the key.
