Why can't some idiots just pass up questions they don't know the answers to?

Earlier today, I was inquiring about how much time in the sun is sufficient for a good tan on a daily basis. After I entered my question a few similar questions popped up and I decided to look at some of the answers. One of the questions had another part to it about tanning beds and how that is compared to sun tanning. Some of the answers where, "check with your doctor" or "Ask a specialist at your tanning salon" or "check out this website ..". Why do these "answerers" waste their time and the "asker's" time? Only answer a question if your know the friggin' answer! That's the entire purpose of this thing; to get answers.

So, if I want to know how to choose a ripe watermelon, don't tell me to go ask my local produce manager or send me to some watermelon website. If you don't know, shut up!

Answer:
because....ummmmm i dont know
Why do you waste time asking rhetorical questions?
Only ask questions you actually want an answer for,
Maybe you should check with the FunQA.coms team. I really don't know why people do that.
I guess this goes with. "Why can't some (hmmm, just can't bring myself to say it) individuals learn that this is a question and answer format, not a Rant and rave format. I'm afraid you are setting yourself up as a bad example. Those were all perfectly valid answers to your question. They may not have been what you wanted, but that's why you get to vote for the best answer. If I wanted to know how to choose a ripe watermelon, I might very well go to the produce manager by the way. If the produce manager wanted to keep selling me watermelons, he or she would find it in his or her best interest to educate me in the ways of watermelon picking. The reason they put that "Search the Web" tab below the Know your source box, is to encourage us to back up our answers with things like websites and documentation of that nature. Maybe you got up on the wrong side of the bed today (through the mattress?) but your comments were rude and uncalled for. Just in case you didn't know they existed, I have thoughtfully posted a link so you can review the community guidelines. Maybe afterwards, you will be thoughtful enough to remove this vitriol and follow those guidelines in the future!
This idiot would like to answer.the reason they say "ask your Doctor" is because He knows what medication you are taking, and if there would be any adverse reaction to the sun.
What your skin condition is and how fair or dark you are. People here do not know these things, they can give you a general idea of what they think. I would start out with 10 minutes each day and build up to 15..if you don't burn.
And, if as you said you have read some of the answers, you really would not want to take their advise...would you?
So far as the watermelon goes, thump it, you want a good solid sound, not a hollow one..have a great day and thanks
