How can a person harm himself in the largest way?

I'm not talking about cutting or beating oneself or anything physically for that matter. I'm asking how can someone hurt himself emotionally and destroy himself from the inside? What do you think is the biggest way to accomplish this?

i dont think he hurt himself, i think others hurt him. If he dosent feel love he becomes loveless and unemotional. If he believes terrible things people tell him, he may destroy himself in that way. If he fears things he can destroy himself. His worst enemy is himself.
hurting other people mentally will come back to hurt himself more than anything.
If a person is not true to himself and always kids himself and indulge in sinful things.. guilt with catch up with him. and when guilt catches up, depression will set in.and when depression sets in.... it's like living in hell
