Could I have OCD?

Some people call me a perfectionist and sometimes I agree but I think that it may be something else. When Im writing or drawing or vaccuming and i dont feel like I hit every thing perfectly, I have to take my right hand and wipe all around the paper or I have to vaccum the room all over again or else it just agrivates me. I tried to use my left hand to swipe the paper when I have a little 'episode' and that makes it worse and its like I have a little bit of anxiety. Im not trusted to fold clothes anymore cause if a shirt doesnt crease the right way I start the whole basket over again. I never made that big of a deal about it but now its really starting to annoy me. Sometimes I get so mad that something isnt done right that I grind my teeth or litterally wanna pull my hair. My mom and dad dont believe me when I say that something might be going on so I cant see anyone. So do you think that I have OCD? Thanks!

Answer:
Only a psychiatrist can diagnose a disorder, therefore, you ought to ask your parents to set up an appointment for you. In case it is OCD, there are effective medications and counseling support available.
It sounds like you may have OCD. I have it. If you would like to write and ask some quetions I would be happy to help. Lot's of communities have free clenics where you can get diagnosed and treated.
It sure sounds like it,how did you know about OCD?
That is some pretty good detective work. You should see a doctor and tell him about this.It will only get worse and before you know it,you will begin to have anxiety attacks along with it.
It will become a prison without bars.
It is probably a chemical imbalance and it can be corrected.
Your personality type has set you up for it or served as a warning.Perfectionism is a problem in its own right. We are people and if we were perfect,we would no longer need toilet paper or a bathroom.
It would just take care of itself.
PS:I have had OCD since I was a teenager.I have overcome most of it through meds and forgiving myself for my faults.
ya i would say something to that affect if you still live with your parents and there the only ones you can go to for help then i take it you still go to school. so my advise would be if you have no one Else to talk to try to relax until school gets back in and talk to a canceler or just keep bringing it up to your parents eventually they will get the hint that you just might need help hope that helps and good luck
ya i think you do ... i did but not as bad as you but i couldnt go to bed if the dishes werent washed and if stuff wasnt picked up off the floor...and i would freak out and just stress and clean over everything... but i got on prozac and i am a totally different perons people think its for just depression but it for a bunch of things just ask your doctor... when it interferes in relationships with other people is when its not good
It may just be a stage you are going through if you are still young.

If your parents are resisting listening to you or do not believe you why not try to speak to a school counselor or a trusted teacher or another grown up you trust and see if they can speak to your folks.

Good luck. You will be fine!
