Should the same ethical standard of a human apply when research is conducted on a animal ?

If we want to stop medical research in its tracks, then, yes.
I'm a pet lover so of course I'm going to say YES. I wouldn't want to see my dog in pain for any reason. Pain is pain wether it be in a human or animal. I'm not an activist by any means but just another one of God's creatures.
no humans are more valuable then animal!
if we weren't then we would not eat them!
