How do you stop yourself from becoming too nervous?

When a very important situation comes up, how do you stop yourself from becoming too nervous to avoid the loss of breath while speaking, the uncontrollable and rapidly beating heartbeat, the hesitated speaking, and the loss of memory and what to say.. it seems really bad, how do you go about getting this out of your system?

Answer:
you just stop being nervous. I know its hard but i trained myself and so can you. When a situation comes up seriously think whats the worst that could happen? Think what the other person might be feeling...they may be nervous too. You have to admit that you're nervous, take deep slow breaths and forget the situation is important.
pot
I breathe deeply and imagine I'm in a completely different place, time era, situation, etc.

Existential thought has saved me from some situations like this, but it's also made some of them worse.
Distract yourself untill you go into action. If you have to go up in front of a group of people to speak, for instance, stare out a window or read a book, anything really, untill its time for you to go on. The anticipation wont be so great and it will be easier to kick yourself into gear.
Predict when a situation like this will arise and be ready to deal with it. It is best not to think about the anxiety or it will feed itself. Positive self-talk is always helpful and reassuring too, and whatever you do DON'T think negatively.
I used to be a very nervous person, but I overcame it recently.
What I do is this: every time I'm feeling nervous, just think.
will it matter in 10 years?
you only live once, so take chances!
You can't change the outcome no matter what so it's no use trying
It will be over soon
imagine that you AREN'T nervous and are totally confident!

Also, take deep breaths and close your eyes. Read a book. Talking helps A LOT. Run or walk. Anything to take your mind off of it.

Good Luck!! =]
Smoke dope right before you get started
