How come I can type with my eyes closed but not with the lights off?
Am I just strange or does that happen for other people too? Is there some psycho thing about it?
Answer:
same! i can type with my eyes closed and not looking at the keyboard but in the dark, i can't type and i mess up even if i close my eyes or down look at the keyboard. lol its weird, but i think it might be somewhat normal since theres 2 of us!
You just can't that's all, not a big deal. Have you tried chewing gum and typing with the lights on?
You peep when u type with ur eyes closed.
hhmmmm, im not a professional or anything but im guessing that maybe, when your eyes r closed, u know that u can open them right away if u feel the need to. however when the lights r off, u would need to get up and turn them on. the point is that maybe your brain is spending more time worrying about the dark than focusing on typing when the lights r off.
Maybe you are feeling a slight sense of being uncomfortable because you don't have the safety net of being able to whip your eyes back open were you to hear a strang noise. It is probably distracting your ability to concentrate on what you are trying to do.
Almost certainly you were already seated and your hand were in position to begin before you closed your eyes..
You were fully oriented with the keyboard.
If the room is completely dark, then you lose orientation and rely on touch and memory.
In order to type in darkness you rely on them even more, to get into the chair, then position your body properly and place your hands in the appropriate position. After that you must maintain both positions to permit continued typing without a means of constantly re-orienting yourself, which is what you would normally do.
There is also uncertainty because taking action in darkness is unfamiliar, and you must adapt to it over some time.
If you spend the time and effort, you will learn to type quite well in darkness.
