Why when one cooks for others, don't have the appetite to share them?

Many women agree that they feel same after cooking for their families 'no appetite to share the meal' - also say same comment when others call them to eat: 'who cooks don't have the appetite to eat'!

I, myself; eat hours later from preparing lunch to my parents!?
I wonder. . Does it have anything to do with psychology?

Referenced explanations would be appreciated :)

Answer:
cause they get the pleasure of cooking for other people..
I don't know about you but the reason I often don't have an appetite is because I've been sampling the food as a adjust the seasonings, etc. Also, for me, it only happens when I've cooked a big meal and family is over for a holiday. THis is mostly because I'm busy drinking to get through the family visit and have no room for food. I eat after they leave.
I think it has more to do with your exposed to the raw foods and aroma's. Aroma's can be just as fulfilling as food sometimes and taking a little time away from it can make your appetite return. Also, sometimes we taste and sample while we cook which can also be filling. I've heard that chewing gum will keep you from losing your appetite while you cook. This isn't just a problem with women, my husband experiences the same thing.
It depends. I cook all the time and for my family. I do not eat with them most times. Reason being, I've been cooking and smelling so many different things and ingredients that I just don't have an appetite till hours later.

It could be something mental for you with your parents. Only you can know the answer to that question.
This is funny. I feel the same. I think it could be because maybe as we are cooking, we take in all of the sensations, other than eating. But I think it could also be activity, the more active I am the less hungry I tend to be. There are exceptions but generally that is true, for me anyway.
I am the same way. I would much rather eat something that someone else has prepared rather than what I have prepared myself.
No reference materials needed here. Its simply because we do so much sampling of what we are preparing to assure everything tastes just right, that by the time dinner is served, we are stuffed!
Cooking is one of my hobbies. I always enjoy watching others enjoy the meal more than I enjoy eating it myself.

Maybe it comes from the "It's better to give than to receive" school of thought?
I think it has to do with the fact that you are exhausted from all the preparation and cooking of the food that afterwards you have lost your appetite to eat. It might also be that cooks often sample the food they are cooking for taste and consistency, that by the time everyone is ready to eat, they already feel full.
