Does this classify me as having OCD?

Almost all day long I am doing this thing with my nails where I scratch my cuticles. I've been doing it since I was 10. It drives me nuts and I can't stop. My fiance says I do it in my sleep too.
When I'm not doing that I am spelling everything I see in sign language. Road signs, chair, bed, wall, etc.

I always have to line things up even. And I arrange things on counters from largest to smallest and when something is out of place, I get really upset. I can't just put something down or put something away like normal. I have to search around to find the exact spot I want it. Just putting a fork inthe sink takes me minutes.

Also I have to touch everything I come across. Going to the grocery store is a nightmare, I'm there for hours.

If this does classify me, is there anything naturally I could do help this go away?

Answer:
It sounds like OCD but I would definitely consult a professional about this. There probably isn't anything you can do to make this go away since it is probably caused by something that happened to you in the past and/or a chemical imbalance in your brain. Don't think this makes you crazy, it doesn't. Don't be afraid to seek help because doing so can help you to live a happier life.
You may have it, but unless it dramaticaly interferes with your life, it isn't a problem. Everyone has some form of OCD.
Yes, you have OCD. Ask your doctor because i believe there are drugs that help you with this. I think my roommate took them and helped her chill out.
It might possibly mean that but this is such a terrible rotten place to come for a diagnosis. Your best bet would be to go see a professional and talk to them--not us about it.
I think every body's got OCD. Everyone is a little obsessive at times. Don't bug out. You are fine
yes
Kind of sounds like OCD to me. Go to a health food store and ask about natural supplements that might help. They are usually very informative about their products. There are probably several different things you can try. Everyone is different; what works on one person may not work on another.
No Offense but OH YEAH! See a psychologist. Soon!
you might have a mild type of ocd but I dont think its anything serious.hey if u can live ur life comfortably and not notice it from day to day then you'll be fine.. if you start to notice and become aware of your habits, then it might be time to see a doctor who specializes in that field!! h0pe everything works out f0r you in the long run
It does sound like you are exhibiting behavior that is indicative of OCD, but a psychiatrist should diagnose you in person to be sure. The obvious signs of repetitive behavior that you cannot consciously control along with the fact that these compulsions are affecting your life, means you should seek professional help. I don't know of any natural ways to treat OCD, as it is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain. Taking medication can help tremendously.
yes but nothing you do in your sleep is classified as OCD. you should consult a doctor about your symptoms
Go to the doctor and get diagnosed is about the only sure way.
If this behavior is not hurting your life in any way, then it doesn't seam like a problem.
My son does some of those behaviors and he is diagnosed with a form of autism.

These are your little quirks and no drug is going to take these away. This is you and be happy with who you are. Also if you have kids get ready for the kids to also have some or a lot of your quirks.

Your quirks are not all that rare.our house is quite entertaining at times! Wish you well!!
You may or may not have OCD, but you do seem to be exhibiting behavioral problems. It is unethical for anyone to give you a Dx in here btw. The best thing you can do is consult a licensed counselor or psychologist. Herbs from natural food stores and prescriptions from the doctor's office are not going to "cure" you alone. They will only "numb you out". It has been empirically (scientifically) shown that behavioral modification training is necessary to gain control over your life. Pills will not give you the tools to change your behaviors. You must learn those new behaviors from others who can help you do so. You can also learn new ways of thinking while you are learning new behaviors. This alone has accounted for more healing of OCD and other behavior disorders than all medical interventions combined.
