How to deal with Ochophobia?

I can't cross pedestrians when trucks and buses are around.

Answer:
Hmmm... I think you have a fear, but not a phobia. If you look in the DSM-IV, you will see a phobia involves greater fear than what you experience. For example, you would be so scared, you would organize your life around it. You would do everything in your power to not meet moving traffic. And in 2007, this would involve not getting out of your house at all! Unless you live in a very isolated country town...

A fear is treated exactly like a phobia... Start with small exposures. Like watching it on TV or from your window. Then you start exposing yourself more and more to the moving traffic. You can do this with someone you feel secure with if it helps.

Have faith in yourself, tell yourself you're good and you can do it! You will cross pedestrians one day.

TAKE ALL THE TIME YOU NEED AND DO NOT STRESS ABOUT IT.

Good luck!

Never heard of it, hope this helps!
I don't GET IT!! I even looked up "ochophobia" in the dictionary and couldn't find it!! I know "phobia" but what on earth is "ocho" other than maybe "8"...is this spider phobia of 8-legged creatures??
thats a good question because i have no idea how you can think you are greater than a huge metal machine that reaches a faster speed than you can ever reach. but i would say that its a human behind the wheel and if you wait for them to stop they arent going to jump out like the bogeyman, just relax and take a deep breath, that works for everything
are you screaming in full freaken rage when that happens. if you were superman, would you be able to cross it to the other side like 20 blocks? if you were superman, how does the fearful dude look like?
