What about I/O psychologists, should they be subject to the same regulations as clinical psychologists?
Answer:
Although I/O psychologists may not be as directly involved with clients as are clinical psychologists, they still can play a large role in people's lives. They are involved in issues around hiring and firing employees, for example. They may determine fitness for a job. They may provide consultation to companies going through significant transitions. So, as with clinical psychologists, there is a basic level of training and a skill set required in order to do a good job. They too, should be regulated.
I'm Dutch, and don't know the abbreviation I/O..could you please explain??
