When I'm in a bad mood all I do is tell people to stop whining.

Sure. Let it out on people you don't know and don't necessarily care about. Better than venting in a harmful way. Besides, answering while angry, upset, whatever takes off any inhibitions you may have towards being soft with people (not sure if you have that kinda problem or not). I for one like giving stupid/sarcastic answers to deserving questions especially when I'm in that mood.
