How can I work on my self-esteem?
Answer:
Be easy on yourself and feel confident about your appearance, your intelligence, and your accomplishments. Tell yourself of all your accomplishments, and how your good at them.tell yourself why your a good person. Hang around people who don't put you down..and stop trying to please everybody else, be content with yourself.
Hang around with people that would look up to you.
its easier said then done, but be yourself and have no shame. go to people and act the way you want to act and just be sure of urself doing it. dont try and make other people happy. if yuor yourself, and your happy doing it, you'ld be surprised by what the outcome may be. for example, if you want to talk to a different crowd or something and gain potential friends, come up with something random. go up to someone you usually dont talk to, and just ask them something that would start conversation. like, "hey, have you seen that new movie _____?" or just something like that. you'ld be surprised that after you talk to a couple people the confidence you get. just dont be questioning yourself. and it may not work with everyone, there are people who are just snobby, but dont give up. also try going out for a team or soemthing that you're interested in. =)
hope this helps. i konw me doing this helped me make alotta friends. :)
Try to always think positively about yourself. Whenever you have a negative thought about yourself, think "I love myself. I am a really good person and I am good at a lot of things." It might sound silly, but it actually works. Also, write a list of complements that you have received. Update it regularly, and look at it when you start to feel depressed. Remember all the people who like you, e.g. your family and friends.
Go and teach someone something you are knowledgeable about. When you do that, you will put yourself in a position of responsibility (for passing on proper knowledge) and will replace the frame of reference in which you see yourself.
