What is the difference between education and propaganda?

Answer:
Education is information that you can use to make your own decisions or use to acquire more knowledge about the universe in which you live.

"Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist." Source: Garth S. Jowett and Victoria O'Donnell, Propaganda And Persuasion, 4th edition, 2006.

A true education teaches you the tools to think for yourself.

Propaganda prevents it.

Now..if we could just get everyone to TRULY educate the young. . . .
education opens to new understanding and knowledge and leads you to further learning, while propaganda is this thing that try to nail certain idea / concept into you without allowing you to see other things / alternatives around that particular idea / concept.
proper education stresses that open-mindedness is best, while propaganda discourages free thinking by claiming it is the only way to think, and if you are different you are bad...
Education teaches people HOW to think for themselves and remain free. Propaganda teaches people WHAT to think in order to persuade, manipulate and enslave them.
