Does anyone know how to over come shyness?
I'm a shy person and I can't stand it. I'm tired of it holding me back. Is there anything I can do?
Answer:
As a parent, I've seen that some kids are just inclined more inward than outward. There's nothing wrong with that, and if you're inclined that way, the first thing to do is to accept that. I'm also inclined more inward than outward. As long as you're fighting a war with yourself in such broad terms, you'll lose.
You have to look at what's "holding you back", or specifically what you're holding yourself back from. Focus on specific goals, like "I want to talk to that cute person" or "I want to feel less awkward around the water cooler at work" or "I want to have a meaningful exchange of thoughts with my friend". A lot of people have been in a spot where they feel shy and can't seem to do anything about it, and it's not a big deal.
Focus on the specific, look at what you want to do and can't seem to, and switch from a mindset of changing yourself to a mindset of specific problem solving and reaching particular goals. Keep doing that and after a while you won't be worried about this anymore, and you'll find that by taking specific steps and sticking with it, you've made the broad change you wanted to.

Take "baby steps" to break your shyness. Maybe try one new adventure per week at first. It could be something as simple as to say "hello" to a bypasser on the street. Then work up to a conversation with a person you find interesting at work/school. The more you try to get out of your comfort zone, the easier it will become.
Taking acting lessons/classes worked for me! You can't be shy if you are in drama!
alcohol works for most people.
Go to a nude beach and play volleyball! (or drink!! or both!!)
whatch porn, jack off, and ** girls.
like anything else...practice. try talking to people you already know, then people you sort of know, and then new people.
be more outgoing. do the opposite of what you usually do.
A lot of times shyness comes from a lack of confidence. Once you are happy with yourself there is no reason to be shy. You have to quit putting so much emphasis on what other people think. If the shyness is about approaching the opposite sex, just do it. If it doesn't work out you feel shame for a short amount of time and can move on. Plenty of fish in the sea.
Surround yourself with outgoing people. Won't be shy for long.
The one thing that works for me is talk to more people.
I have experienced the same problem all of my life. All I can say is challenge yourself. If you are too afraid to go to parties, go to one. If you are too afraid to talk to your classmate, try to start a small talk. Push yourself.
