What do you do to keep a positive attitude?

Answer:
1) read my Bible daily
2) Pray daily
3) attend church, worship, listen to preaching
4) think positive thoughts... I have problems, but I know it'll all turn out good
5) hang out with people that are positive...
6) speak positively
7) monitor myself on books I read or movies I watch... I want positive stuff
Even when I feel I'm certain of the potential negativity of a situation, I try to make myself think positively. It's hard to force yourself to believe something that your brain perceives as impossible of course. But I still do it even if it only helps brightening my mood.

In order to make myself believe something I need logic and order. So what I do is this: I make mental notes regarding the situation, list all the details of the situation in my mind and try to form coherent positive sentences.

"This cannot happen because..."

It's like talking in front of an audience or telling a story. If you give yourself enough proof and you deliver that proof in coherent sentences, it's amazing how easily your mind can be fooled through auto-suggestion.
you just think about the goodness and the jot you have had in your life...besides,whats the use of bein negative? u oli end up being sore...jus set a goal in life and work towards it...
Cause being negative attracts negative vibes, make you look older and uglier.
part of what i do is read the "desiderata" available on the Internet.

the rest is as balanced a recipe as i can muster of humor, humility, compassion, empathy while keeping my self esteem and dignity.
look at my kids picture
I want to give you a specific example that just happened in my life. I had to fly and as I get older, I become more fearful of flying. I had the terrible thought that the plane would crash. Then I looked around at the flight crew and the passengers and I saw everyone was acting normally and no one seemed to be afraid of anything. So I told myself the danger was totally irrational and I survived the flight.
