Do you ever?
Answer:
Yeah, I forget my dreams from time to time. It's been proven that people dream every night and the average dream only lasts for seconds at a time. So, it isn't possible for anybody to remember every dream they have. I think the ones that we remember most are the ones that effect the most in some kind of emotional way. I think we tend to remember nightmares more than good dreams because they scare us and fear is a very strong and effective emotion. I don't think the purpose of dreams are to entertain necessarily but it does get the job done sometimes haha. And, yes, I do believe that there are some dreams that we remember because we are supposed to or because our subconscious minds are trying to get our attention and show us or tell us something.
I thought they all were for entertainment,
sleeping's fun!
i never remember my dreams.
never thought of it that way
Get yourself a notebook, and immediately when you wake up write them down, and you won't forget them.
what i do is to put a small notebook beside my bed and if i have a nightmare or dream and wake up in the middle of the night, i will jot it down, if not i will forget the next day. most of the time.
Tape recorder is easier if you want to go to that extent. Writing just slows down the process!
Yes, I forget mine all the time. People are said to have two or three dreams a night, but I remember them maybe once every few months, so either I don't dream (which would be a sign of neurological damage) or I don't remember them.
I don't think the memorable ones are particularly meaningful though. One of my most memorable dreams was when I was five years old, and I woke screaming because a rabbit was chewing on my nose. That hardly bears meaning. Another, more recently, involved a teen running away and being chased by her family (that was a first person dream even though it wasn't me, very thrilling, plus I had sleep paralysis then which was terrifying) and still had no relevance.
I remember them because they scared me, not because they bear some major impetus.
