My friend will wake up or turn around if you stare at him for a bit.?

Can this be proven to be any type of 6th sense?how does he know im looking at the back of his head?? Why does he wake up yelling "stop staring at me". We cant help it. Me and the other roomies think its too funny

Answer:
Well, your eyes are essentially telescope lenses, and they gather light in a similar fashion...Your retinas detect and transmit information from the light captured and condensed from your friend's direction, but the photons don't stop at the retina. They are reflected outward and concentrated again at the lens of the eye, so when you stare at your friend, or anyone who is accustomed to "normal" photon bombardment, if they are sensitive to it, they will feel an unusual pattern of refocused light manifested as an itchy tingle...The ability to detect watchful eyes may be a very significant survival factor...You know when the sun is "watching you" right? Same thing, less intense, but we know the signature pattern of eye focus and it creeps us out.
Try looking at him with a mirror, or with one eye closed through a colored filter...
maybe he can felt u staring @ him. sometimes it happens 2 ppl, i know cus it happened 2 me once
lmao i doubt it's some kind of 6th sense, i mean when im turned around i can tell someone is staring at me and i can actually tell which direction they're staring from i just get a weird feeling on the back of my head, and wherever i get the feeling is where im being stared at from. i have NO idea what to tell you about the sleep thing thats just plain funny lol
yes i beleive it's caaled esp.
If you keep doing it will be just instinct that tells him that your straring at him...yes he can follow patterns. The more you do the more he becomes paranoid...
Don't you ever get that feeling yourself?
He's probably parinod about something. I used to do that but not wake up from sleep, my friend did that though & he was always jumpy.
I don't think you could really prove this but there are theories about astral projection that could explain this. The idea is that when you sleep sometimes your spirit will travel around while your body stays where it is. However, your conscious mind does not usually remember it. Dreams that you have in which you are floating or flying are said to actually be your spirit astrally projecting or astrally traveling while you sleep. So you could be seeing your body while your spirit "floats" above it. That could explain how your friend could wake-up knowing that you are staring at him. If you want to find out more information on this topic you could try reading some books by Sylvia Browne. I have found them to be pretty interesting.
yes that happens to me.. i wake up out of a dead sleep and someone will be lookin at me.. its weird. i think it is kinda like a 6th sense. pretty cool how you can sense these things.
perhaps this will help when i am dreaming i am also up and know that my bro is listening to music and if my Lil cousin is playing the game(PS2 game cube)or not i also do this but its not 6th sign or anything i guess at these times which is a climax of relaxation u can sense insensible things like sometimes i scream (when i wake up)and no sounds come out i yell someone move my head or body because i cant move then i either see a ghosts get off me then i jump up or i see a ghost disappear and i get up i hate it though its been happening to me alot lately also i can hear people saying wake up when i am sleep then i say stop saying that but I'm steal sleep its unexplainable i guess or just ask Sylvia Browne she is a physic
