Why do i immediately wake up when i hear something?

yesterday, my mom was making a doctors appointment for me as i was sleeping in my room, she was all the way out in the living room and im a deep sleeper plus i think i snore (thats wat everyone tells me) and in my mind, i could hear her as i was deep sleeping but i dont notice it and i just popped out of bed and woke up as soon as i heard her making that appointment.

what urged me to do that? i was sleeping but how could i hear her? am i physic? ha ha, no just kidding but really, why?

explain to me please.

Answer:
You've trained yourself to this. I was in the Navy for 6 years and I trained myself to only wake up when my name was called. It could be loud and it wouldn't bother me, but if someone whispered my name I would wake right up. Plus, everyone is still paying attention when they sleep, most of mankind cannot focus to that degree to remember everything that was going on around them. It's one of those things that is on the 90% of our brain that we can't consciously control.
cause ya spidey senses are tingling
Self preservation. Being a light sleeper has disadvantages, but you will be sure to wake up if the house were on fire, if someone was trying to break in, if the baby is in trouble, etc.
Maybe you were not as deep asleep as you thought.
