Why is it so easy to get into a habit, and so hard to break one?

Answer:
Once your mind finds something works for you once, it will use it over and over again. It's kind of a natural triggered reaction. Only problem is if it doesn't work for you the next time your mind will still revert back to using it because it worked for you once and it seems safe. The only way to stop it is to learn to controll your mind rather than your mind controlling you, and that means doing things that are scary that your mind isn't comfortable with, and no-one likes to do things that are scary, unless they are adrenaline junkies.
because habbits are easy or enjoyable to do
Good question! Ask a Nun!
huh? a nun? I don't get it.

Anyway, Habbit like what the first person had said, is something that you enjoy doing or need to do like brushing your teeth...You know that if you don't brush your teeth, your mouth would stink if you were to talk to someone.
And just like gambling - you fear that if you don't gamble, might win and would therefore kick yourself.
