Hardest Math EVERY!! in HISTORY of aLl mAths ??
Answer:
Why is 1+1=2? Solve it in a mathematical way... Like If blah blah plus blah, and you will blah blah, therefore blah blah. And so 1+1=2.
Advanced calculus seems very hard. It integrates algebra, geometry and trigonometry. It seems so hard because it is very abstract in many ways. You have to connect different thought processes in order to make it work.
I have always heard that in high school. people either have a brain for algebra or a brain for geometry. I was good at algebra, had to really work in geometry, I got an A in advanced algebra without trying. I couldn't understand trig at all - had to drop the class. So I never understood calculus.
Math doesn't seem to be of use to the average person, but I have found that it has helped me be a better problem solver - it taught my brain to work different ways to solve problems.
Engineering. Writing code - that seems like a very difficult process.
i'm not a grad student anymore, my degree is in psychology -- i HATED statistics! gives me nightmares. calculus was fun for me, statistics was horrid.
I will tell you about the hardest problem I ever encountered. A group of about ten of us was responsible for grading a professional exam taken by about 500 people, and for setting the passing score. The people that passed would get raises and promotions, and the people who failed would not. People would fail for being 1/4 point below the passing grade. Each of the ten of us had a different opinion on the passing grade, and we had a fixed timeframe to make our choice; after that we left and went home to different parts of the country. There was no predetermined passing grade such as 70%. We looked at lots of data on how difficult the exam was and how prepared the students were, and of course the data was contradictory. Somehow we made a decision that the majority supported.
