I'm so afraid of presentations, please help!?

I have psyched myself for the best presentation I will deliver. It is my turn. I go up, confident that I will be my best.

But when I turn around to face the audience, my self-confidence plummets. I get lost and tongue-tied, I forget my lines. I lose my train of thought.

My presentation becomes messed-up, and I sound like a broken tapeplayer put on fast-forward during play. I skip several parts of the whole presentation because I suddenly cannot find the parts in my prepared typed-and-printed speech.

I dont sound coherent. And people are sniggering.

Please help! This is what ALWAYS happens, and I have a major presentation!!

Taking deep breaths or drinking water helps. I personally don't like imagining people in their underwear, because that's too awkward for me, and that's one too many.

You can stare at the back of the room as you talk, and maybe move your eyes around, so it might look like you're trying to make contact with your audience, but at the same time, try not to make eye contact, because when you do, you get the idea, "Gosh, they're paying attention to me. I better not screw up." Talk slowly, because talking fast will definitely not get you anywhere, and you have more of a chance to screw up your words.

Psyching yourself for this presentation works, and just tell yourself that you will not screw up. Screwing up is very bad. Grip onto something if you think you might feel a bit anxious. I think doing things slowly is the key here, because you have the moments where you can be careful as well.
well.take many deep breaths...and alwayz keep in mind to talk clearly and loudly.dont focus on how many ppl u are talking in front of..try to tune them out.like lets say there is a lock in the back of the room..when u look up from your speech focus on that clock.it will look like you are looking at the audience..also, you can try the old trick of imagining the audience in their underwear..to calm your nerves.good luck!~
Practice ahead of time so that you know what you want to say. Stand in front of a mirror and go through the speech several times. You have stage fright or possibly some form of anxiety. Does it happen other times, or just during big presentations? Medications can also help. Read this link...
You sound like you have stage fright. Try to calm yourself down before the presentation. You're already prepared, so take some deep breaths. Don't look into the audience or make eye contact. I know this is what people tell you to do to engage the audience, but you need to forget that people are watching you and pretend that you are practicing in front of a mirror.
Try making note cards to keep yourself on track to where you are supposed to be while giving your presentation. Don't look at anyone in your class (maybe the professor), look at the back wall behind them so it looks like you are looking at them. Also, if given the chance, go first. Maybe sitting there thinking about how nervous you are going to be is totally psyching you out. You'll get the presentation over with and your professor may or may not grade a little easier for the first presentation.
We all hate being, or feeling like we are being judged. I take off my glassses and dont look at people and that helps me.
here are some tips:
1. picture the audience in their undergarments.
2. pick a spot on the wall and keep your eyes on that spot AT ALL TIMES!
3. if you make a mistake try to just make a joke out of it.
4. review your notes ahead of time and don't try to cram.
5. make sure that you have note cards or something to remind you of what to say next.(if these notes are two pages long, no offense, but then you don 't know what you are talking about)
that happens to me too...
i get so scared right when im up there...
i kno u think of something
