Do you ever memorize figures and numbers by their "colors"?
Answer:
Yes, when I was young, I did. This phenomenon is called synesthesia, where one sensory modality or concept is immediately and unexplicably experienced with another. For example, I see blue when I see/think two, and red when I see/think three. Songs even had tastes to me before.
Synesthesia is very strong in some people and can sometimes be debilitating (imagine always being bombarded by "irrelevant" information). It can also be a boon to memory because you now have more cues to remember things by. I guess for some people, as they use these associations less, they they diminish. Sad for me. Haha.
Drugs can cause this, temporarily, by the way. Hallucinogens like LSD are known to cause it.
Not usually, because usually when i memorize anything, it's all in black ink
but if your saying like there were four numbers, memorize the color...yea i have done that
I think one side of the brain wants to say the color, and the other wants to say the word...or something
no. i usually memorize just the numbers but if both color and number are required, i'd memorize both. i don't trust my photographic memory that much.
No because that will drive me nuts.
Not since I stopped dropping acid.
I also can no longer remeber songs by their smell.
