I an a student. i have a bad habit of eating pencils and this is having a bad impact on my brain?

how can i stop it. it reduces concentration power and interlligence, and i am so much addicted to it that i cannot stop eating it

Answer:
..It's not an addiction. It's just a fully ingrained bad habit. It's not bad for your brain, but it probably doesn't help you learn, either. But it IS bad for the pencil.

Quitting is easy -

1. Stop using pencils you can chew. Get yourself some mechanical pencils made of metal or hard plastic.

2. The chewing is just a way of transferring nervousness into activity. Try transferring this nervousness into a different activity. I highly recommend making outlines - structured notes - of the books you're reading, or of the lectures you're hearing.

3. If permissible, try chewing gum instead.

Good luck!
Make a paste of alum (the kind used for pickling) and water. Soak the pencils in them over night. The bitter taste will help you stop chewing on them.
