How do you stay focused?

Sometimes its hard to focus but you have to finish it. what are ways to concentrate.

hard when you have a lot of distractions!

if you find yourself starting tothink of other things then it's time to take a short 5 minute break!
meditation and refocuse your goals...
you may have to jot down why your doing what your trying to keep focus on! if it is for work and you hate that part of your job then remember that part of the job pays your bills and gives you money! there for money would be your motiiation if it don't motivate you then you need to ask yourself why you work where you do stuff you don't like to do!

but mainly stop what your doing meditate jot down things that you will get when finished with task at hand!
and get back to it!
block out all noise and block all thought s that may cause you to lose focus
Think about the light at the end of the tunnel.
find a hobby that helps you focus -- gardening, vivarium keeping (aquariums, terrariums, etc), even an indoor zen garden are good. just meditating or practicing yoga helps too. sometimes getting out and riding my bike helps me.

try not to focus on getting it all done in one sitting. take things one step at a time. you can't get very far in one big jump. if your mind goes blank find something constructive to do -- watching tv is not constructive. most media -- television, internet, etc is created to be a distraction. they have learned how to manipulate flashing lights to keep you watching to sell more commerical time. they are best if you learn to limit your time to what you want to watch (turn it on to watch your favorite show and turn it off before the next show starts) and concentrate on more productive and constructive things.

I, too, have a lot of trouble concentrating. Here are some tips that help me focus.

Make sure you:

1. get 7-8 hours of sleep every night
2. eat 5-6 smaller nutritionally-balanced meals each day (large meals can make you groggy)
3. minimize intake of sugar
4. consume carbohydrates in moderation
5. drink six to eight glasses of water each day
6. consume caffeine in moderation
7. minimize alcohol intake
8. ideally, don't start using tobacco; otherwise, minimize or quit using tobacco altogether
9. engage in aerobic exercise at the start of every day
10. breathe deeply (oxygen promotes concentration)
11. meditate routinely
12. minimize or eliminate distractions when possible
13. maintain a routine whenever possible to conserve your mental energy for more difficult tasks
14. schedule difficult tasks for the time of day when you are most alert and focused
15. consume adequate amounts of protein
