Should I be rich?

Assuming I can be rich, should I be? I am 16 now by the way. The carreers I want, I want because I like them, not for the money. But would being rich destroy my motivation to work, therefore not enable me to pursue those careers? I am talking about the mental aspects here, the motivation etc.

Answer:
There could be two outcomes:

One thing is that, it may not destroy nor strip away your motivation to pursue your career because by being rich you will never have to worry of attending to most of your needs, your physiological needs that is. You will never have to worry about money, food, shelter, clothing, bills, and other stuff. These things get in the way of people's ambitions, forcing them to leave their passion and resort to jobs that really 'earn'. So, when you're rich, you're most likely worry-free, therefore you're more focused on fulfilling your dreams.

The other, is basically the overwhelming influence of money that may consume you once you started spending them. When its influence grows on you, you tend to become its fuel, rather in it being yours, and when the time comes that you're not using them wisely anymore, it will bring trouble and destroy not just your career but also your life as a whole.
sure why not
Do something you like and try to become rich at it! There's nothing wrong money, just dont let it control you, you control the money!
yea
Being rich should not destroy the aspirations of a healthy person, most people being hedonistic can easily be swayed its all up to you, at sixteen you have alot left to experience and those experiences are going to help you become the person you will be - teach you what you truly value

Yuor own values are the heart of the matter
If your job causes you to be rich and you like it. Stay with it but if it's just for the money don't do it. Cuz money can't bring happiness.
If you were paid a million an hour, you may just work 10 hours a year and go partying for the rest. However, if you wanted to find a cure for cancer, or eliminate poverty, you may still work 40 hours a week. Your priorities will just have changed.

So no, being rich alone will not destroy your motivations unless they're strictly shallow. If you set your goals high enough, then there'll always be work to be done!
it depends on what kind of a person u are.
Absolutely yes, as long as you run the money and the money does not run you. And don't listen to those people who quote the Bible and say money is the root of all evil. They are wrong, the Bible say the LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
The Bible also says that money answers all things. Be an opportunist, just dont forget the little guy.
I've never had any problems with having money limiting my want to work, lol. If anything, the prospect of more money makes me work even harder.

I'm 34 and I am close to making my first mill between my antique business and flipping and renovating houses. By the time I sell this one house I'm working on, I will have reached my goal: A millionaire at 35.
My secret? No Kids until you are at least 30, save your money and invest when you can, and buy a house, don't rent. Pay your credit cards off every month. Live frugally even once you have a good bit of money.

Good luck!
to become rich you must enjoy making money and not spending money. You can do it in almost every occupation you choose, although if you find that making money makes you feel good, you'll probably find yourself in the Best occupation to make money you could find
would you rather live to work or work to live
