The person is agreeing with you.
Weak character, no opinion of his own, and perhaps not looking for a heated debate if opinion doesn't match yours, so just says that which is a way of saying he agrees with you.
Sounds like the person is an idiot and they do not have a large vocabulary :) Or maybe they were just in the middle of something.
That you asking for the day of leave sounds okay to him.
I don't think he has anything on his mind, it's that
he agrees with whatever is going down.
I'm sure if he did not agree he would not go
along with it...
