What do you think a 16 year old should know? When it comes to intelligence.?

I made of confused you with my question.

but here's the thing I want KNOWLEDGE! Wisdom!
I am only 16 years old currently going to Junior year.

Now,summing up all the intelligence we have in FunQA.com what do you believe a 16 year old or perhaps say someone in high school know?

Still confused?

FOR EXAMPLE:

They should know All States,Presidents etc..

You know things that are important that will help me in the future or things I should be informed of because at the current school I go to they teach nothing!

So please this will be VERY helpful for me.

Thank you.

Answer:
I have the SAME problem. My schoool is crap. Well I'm not saying yours is, but I spend time after school reading classic literature to build up my vocab because I want to be a lit teacher. I have memorized all times tables, presidents (I do a jingle to) states, almost have all the periodic table of the elements memorized. Do you know all your bones?

Sometimes these things matter ;D
Im glad you are asking...I think you are probably ahead of the pack because you actually are thinking about these things.

Here is my list of Must Knows:

Current events...war, peace, areas of strife, basic economics of the time you are living in, what the stock market does and why it's important.

Geography: Know where you are on a map, Know East West North and South, know the continents names and what types of people live on them.

Your own finances: Always know your own finances...even if its just a piggy bank or $100 in the bank...know what you have how to make it bigger and how to keep it when all else fails.
Environment: Know the difference between rural and urban environments, know where your food comes from, who raises it and how it gets to you, Know how you can affect change in environmental issues.

History: know your countries history..not necesserially every president, state capitals etc...but know when your country became what it is today, how it got there, who's blood was shed for it, how it is maintained now.

Family History: know your family...sounds easier than it is..but its not. Ask questions, if you dont have any one to ask, research your family names...old pictures etc.

IF you are poor, look at how the rich really live...not just appearances, if you are Rich, look at how the poor live...know why you should be thankful for what you have.

The rest is just book knowledge that doesnt do much for you.Its interesting stuff, but unless you are going to be on Jeopardy, you probably wont use it.

Good luck learning...its a trip!
Realize that you will not have all the answers. Learn to execute common sense. When it all comes down to it, you know right from wrong, so treat others how you want to be treated. The Presidents, the States, the Capitals of the world are important if you want to teach, or be a Jeopardy! contestant. Learn the facts, formulas and rules of the profession in which you want to succeed. Never stop learning. Always read books and keep up with current events. Learn from other people's mistakes because you can't possibly make them all in one lifetime (and shouldn't). I hope that I've helped.
