VHEMT (pronounced vehement) is a movement not an organization. It's a movement advanced by people who care about life on planet Earth. We're not just a bunch of misanthropes and anti-social, Malthusian misfits, taking morbid delight whenever disaster strikes humans. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Voluntary human extinction is the humanitarian alternative to human disasters.
We don't carry on about how the human race has shown itself to be a greedy, amoral parasite on the once-healthy face of this planet. That type of negativity offers no solution to the inexorable horrors which human activity is causing.
Rather, The Movement presents an encouraging alternative to the callous exploitation and wholesale destruction of Earth's ecology.
As VHEMT Volunteers know, the hopeful alternative to the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals is the voluntary extinction of one species: Homo sapiens... us.

This human mind is so powerful and can be directed at so many constructive things. This human life which necessarily possesses the human mind is precious, but it's clear nature is obscured by ignorance and grasping, isn't it? With this predicament in mind, what can you do but correct your own mistaken views about the true nature of reality? I will die, this is certain; when I will die, however, is not certain. What do I want to bring with me from this life? What can I bring with me from this life? If that is too challenging, what will I leave behind, since the earth and billions of other humans with enormous potential will still be there after I am gone? Maybe it is not obvious that I wish you would apply your intelligence to investigating the true nature of reality as it pertains to you, yourself, and then you would decide what movement to join and be a spokesperson for. The planet won't stop turning when you or I die.

That is complete nonsense, and the idea that people are what is wrong with the planet is media driven, and this is a disturbing crossbreed of fuzzy thinking, and emotional discourse. Wow, any idiot who would take themselves out would not have any impact besides the destruction of the lives of all those who Loved them.
