Problem with APA formatting style...?
Can someone help me put this into APA style?
The authors are : Beatriz Luna, Krista E. Garver, Trinity A. Urban, Nicole A. Lazar, and John A. Sweeney.
Journal: Child Development
September/October 2004
Volume 75
Number 5
Pages 1357-1372
Article Title: Maturation of cognitive processes from late childhood to adulthood
I've always used MLA style, so APA has me so confused...thanks in advance.
Answer:
The format is:
Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article. Title of Periodical, volume number(issue number), pages.
So in your example:
Beatriz, L, Garver, K.E., Urban, T.A., Lazar, N.A., & Sweeney, J.A. (2004). Maturation of cognitive processes from late childhood to adulthood. Child Development, 75(5), 1357-1372.
The journal title and volume number should be in italics.
You would indent after the first line.
Here's a site with good examples: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resour...
Authors, "Title", Journal (Year), Number (Volume), Page.
The authors are Luna, B., Garner, K.E., etc
The Journal name is italized
I don't know how to do APA, but I always use this website.

Beatriz, L., Garver, K. E., Urban, T. A., Lazar, N. A., & Sweeney, J. A. (2004). Maturation of cognitive processes from late childhood to adulthood. <Child Development, 75,> 1357-1372.
<> indicates need for italics; use hanging indent
When in doubt, look at the reference section of the article for formating issues.
